Face LiftFacelift surgery is designed to improve the contour of the face and neck, to give the patient a more rested and youthful appearance. You may be a candidate for a facelift if you have experienced a loss of skin elasticity and muscle tone around your face and neck. Those who may benefit from a facelift exhibit conditions like the following:
There are different types of facelifts that surgeons often label as ‘mini’ or ‘traditional,’ or they may utilize a branded facelift procedure. In a consultation, we can discuss which method will give you the best overall aesthetic result. To briefly describe the facelift procedure, an incision is made from ear to ear just above the hairline. After the incision, the surgeon will sculpt and re-drape tissues of the face, jowls and neck, then lift the muscles and trim the skin. The incision is then closed and held with sutures. The operation is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Patient recovery time is typically about 2 weeks.
