Today, Dr. Robinson will shed some light by answering a few of the most common questions about Botox.
Q: Is Botox safe?
A: Botox has been used and studied extensively for a number of conditions, from wrinkles to excessive sweating under the arms. It has a safe and effective track record. As always, it is important that you research the individual who will be administering the Botox a well as their experience in using this product.
Q: Will Botox work for lines beneath the eyes?
A: Botox may be beneficial to address wrinkles under the eyes, depending on their severity. Fine lines located on the lateral aspect under the eyelid tend to respond better than those in the middle. Sometimes the addition of a chemical peel will help smooth the wrinkles out more.
Q: Can Botox be used around the upper lip to make it fuller?
A: If what you are truly looking for is to plump up your upper lip, I would recommend using a soft tissue filler such as Restylane or Juvederm. If you are looking to address some fine lines on your upper lip, then perhaps Botox may be of benefit.
