Dr. Robinson has been setting the standards for high-quality plastic surgery for over 20 years! Read on for more about why he chose a career in plastic surgery, what he enjoys most about his work, and what he enjoys outside of work!
Q: What first sparked your interest in medicine/surgery?
A: I was fortunate enough to work as a surgical transporter at a local hospital during the summer while I was still in high school. It was during this time where my interest in surgery began.
Q: Why did you choose plastic surgery over other specialties?
A: I initially thought I would become a general surgeon; however, after doing a rotation on the plastic surgery service as a medical student, my mind quickly changed. I loved how plastic surgery was an art and that no two patients or cases were the same. I enjoyed the challenges of being able to improve an individual’s well-being, both aesthetically and from a reconstructive standpoint.
Q: How have you seen plastic surgery change throughout your career?
A: Plastic surgery has become more minimally invasive since I started my career. This not only includes from a surgical standpoint, but the increasing use of fillers, injectables, and lasers to achieve improved aesthetic results.
Q: What is the best advice you could give to potential patients or those considering surgery?
A: The best advice I can give to potential patients considering plastic surgery is to find a board-certified plastic surgeon. These surgeons can be found on the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) website.
Q: What is your favorite part of what you do?
A: My favorite part of plastic surgery is making patients feel good about themselves and improving their self-esteem.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: I enjoy running (and have participated in several half marathons), attending sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.
Q: What is your favorite type of music?
A: My musical tastes gravitate toward classic rock from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
